Margaret
Lake Outpost
The Margaret Lake Outpost is located 65 miles east
of Red Lake, Ontario (35 minute flight) and will accommodate
groups from 4 to 10 with trip lengths from 4 to 7 days.
It is located on the north shore of Margaret Lake and has a spectacular elevated view overlooking the landscape. There is usually a nice breeze coming from the southwest across the open waters to the outpost for a comfortable experience.
The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove/oven, gas refrigerator and a sink with hot and cold running water. Also included is a large living room area with a wood burning stove, enclosed shower and three bedrooms. The outdoor area is furnished with a picnic table, four burner outdoor stove, gas outdoor grill as well as a fire pit for evening campfires.
Margaret
Lake is the largest of all of the connecting lakes and is
approximately 5 miles long and 1-1/2 miles wide at the widest
point with additional fishing action in the Wenasaga River
System and Latreille Lake. There is abundant walleye and
northern pike averaging 3 to 5 pounds per catch with numerous
fish caught above these averages.
Margaret Lake is a "For Consumption Only"
lake which means there are no take home fish, and trophy
fish must be photographed and released back into the waters.
Conservation fishing licenses are mandatory. This is to ensure the ecosystem
of our waters and is also in cooperation with the Ministry
of Natural Resources. Our cabin is the only one located
on Margaret Lake. Plus, we will not allow our other fishing guests to enter Margaret Lake during your stay.
Allison
Lake Outpost
The
Allison Lake Outpost is located 61 miles east of Ear
Falls, Ontario (32 minute flight) and will accommodate groups
from 4 to 10 with trip lengths from 4 to 7 days. As the most remote outpost, the Allison
Lake Outpost is without a doubt our most requested outpost. We will not allow fishermen staying at the Lodge or Margaret Lake Outpost to enter Allison Lake during your stay if the Allison Lake Outpost is occupied.
The cabin has a large kitchen area equipped with a large table, generator, electric refrigerator, four burner gas stove, and a sink with hot and cold running water. Also included is a huge living room area with a wood burning stove, enclosed shower and 3 bedrooms. The outdoor area is furnished with an elevated deck, picnic table, gas burner for fish frying and a gas outdoor grill.
Allison is not a large lake, but it is teaming with fish due to the fact that it is located on the Wenasaga River system. It is not uncommon for each fisherman to catch 100 fish per day! The lake is constantly being stocked with fish from the river system and proves to be a great experience!
Allison Lake has 3 different lakes that are connected together
by breaks with rapids, and it is necessary to change boats
to fish these separate water bodies. Walleye and northern
pike team around the fast moving waters and are very healthy
fish with walleye averaging 1-1/2 to 2 pounds per catch
and northern pike averaging 3 to 5 pounds per catch, with
numerous fish caught above these averages.
Allison Lake is a "For Consumption Only"
lake which means there are no take home fish, and trophy
fish must be photographed and released back into the waters.
Conservation fishing licenses are mandatory. This is to ensure the ecosystem
of our waters and is also in cooperation with the Ministry
of Natural Resources. Our cabin is the only one located
on Allison Lake.
Try a Combination Trip
Due to the fact that our company owns the lodge and the
adjoining outposts, why not try the best of both worlds!
Stay at the outpost of your choice for few days and come
enjoy the full service of the lodge for the remainder of
your trip. We would be happy to put together a package that
will work for you.
Catch & Consume/Catch & Release Fishing
Margaret
and Allison Outposts have a size limit restriction and "For
Consumption Only Policy", which means that there are
no take home fish allowed, no trophy fish allowed, and each
fisherman must have a conservation fishing license. The Ministry of Natural Resources can
fine any person that does not adhere to this policy. Any
fish that is not to be consumed must be photographed and
released back into the water as soon as possible to eliminate
stress on the fish and help sustain the ecosystem to provide
future offspring to catch and release.
