Located 80 air miles northeast of Vermilion Bay, Ontario, Latreille Lake Lodge is accessible only by float plane. All advertised prices are based on chartered float-plane rides originating from Clark’s Air Service in Vermilion Bay, Ontario. (Clark’s Air Service provides all transportation and daily support for the Lodge.)

The American Plan and our Outpost Packages do not include ground transportation to and from Vermilion Bay. Guests must make arrangements with commercial airlines and/or ground transportation providers. We can help with arrangements if there is sufficient time.

Common Routes to Latreille Lake Lodge

There are several common routes to Latreille Lake Lodge:

• Via International Falls: International Falls is serviced by Delta Air Lines and SkyWest Airlines. From International Falls, guests either rent vehicles, charter vans or buses to Vermilion Bay, Ontario, or pick up a float plane based in Fort Frances and fly directly to Latreille Lake. (Vermilion Bay, Ontario is about 135 miles from International Falls, MN.)

We will make arrangements to pick up guests at float plane origination points other than Vermilion Bay; additional charges will apply.

Ground Transportation

North Air Taxi – Vans, taxis and charter buses from Fort Frances to Vermilion Bay. Contact them at 1-807-274-5301 or toll free in the U.S. at 1-800-465-7761.

Major car rental companies are available at the International Falls, MN and Winnipeg airports. Be advised to book car rentals well in advance of schedule arrival time. Frequently the rental car agencies sell out of cars and vans during high traffic times.

Float Plane Services

Clark’s Air Service – We hire the services of Clark’s Air Service for our float plane needs out of Vermilion Bay, Ontario. For an additional charge they will pick up at locations other than Vermilion Bay.
